Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 16, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the Starter Website Plan and the Advanced Website Plan (each a “Plan”) offered by Digital Growth Lab (“Digital Growth Lab”, “we”, “us”, “our”) through digitalgrowthlab.ca. By subscribing to the Plan, including by ticking the terms checkbox at checkout, you (“you”, “the Client”) agree to these Terms.

1. The Plans and what is included

Starter Plan

For a flat monthly fee, the Starter Plan includes:

  • Design and build of one WordPress business website of up to 5 pages
  • Website hosting
  • An SSL certificate (https)
  • A mobile-friendly, responsive design
  • Basic on-page SEO setup
  • A contact form
  • Security monitoring and regular backups
  • Ongoing software updates and maintenance
  • Small content updates on request, such as changes to text, images, prices, hours and contact details
  • An editing login so you can update text, images and blog posts yourself
  • Support from our Toronto team during Eastern Time business hours

The Starter Plan does not include online stores or e-commerce, online ordering, booking or membership systems, or online payments. These are available on the Advanced Plan.

Advanced Plan

The Advanced Plan includes everything in the Starter Plan, with up to 10 pages instead of 5, plus the design and build of one of the following website types on WordPress, chosen when you order:

  • Food Ordering Portal
  • E-commerce Store
  • Booking and Appointments website
  • Real Estate Listings website
  • Online Courses and Membership website
  • Business Directory

The features of each website type are described on our Services page. We set up your chosen website type using the content you provide, including up to 50 products, menu items, services, listings or lessons (“items”). You can add more items yourself at any time using your editing login. If you would like us to set up more than 50 items, we will provide a quote first.

What counts as a page

A page is a separate page of your website with its own web address, such as Home, About, Services, Menu, Shop, Contact or Gallery. Blog posts you add yourself, and individual product, menu item, listing or lesson pages created automatically by your store, ordering, booking or listing system, do not count toward the page limit.

Domain names

Domain names are not included in either Plan. You are responsible for registering, paying for and renewing your own domain name with a domain provider of your choice. We will connect your domain to your website at no extra cost. If your domain expires or is not renewed, your website may stop working at that address until it is renewed.

Not included in either Plan

The following are not included and may be quoted separately: your domain name, additional pages beyond 5 on the Starter Plan or beyond 10 on the Advanced Plan, setting up more than 50 items on the Advanced Plan, a second website type, custom features or integrations, full redesigns, copywriting of new content, logo or brand design, paid stock photography, and paid third-party plugins, apps or services.

If your website takes online payments, your payment provider (for example Stripe or Square) charges its own transaction fees. These are separate from our fees and are paid by you directly to your payment provider.

2. Fees and billing

  • The Starter Plan costs US$49 per month and the Advanced Plan costs US$99 per month, plus any applicable taxes. All prices are in United States dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank’s exchange rate and any foreign transaction fees apply.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your first payment is charged when you subscribe, and the Plan then renews automatically each month on the same date until it is cancelled as described below.
  • Stripe emails you a receipt for each payment. You can view invoices and update your payment card at any time through the billing link we provide.
  • Monthly fees are non-refundable, including for partial months.
  • We may change the price of the Plan with at least 30 days’ written notice by email. Price changes do not apply during your minimum term.

3. Minimum term and cancellation

  • The Plan has a minimum term of 12 months, starting on the date of your first payment.
  • If you cancel during the minimum term, the remaining monthly payments for the minimum term remain due.
  • After the minimum term, the Plan continues month to month. You may cancel at any time by contacting us through our contact page. There is no cancellation fee after the minimum term.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing month in which we receive your request. You will not be charged again after that.

4. Failed payments

If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry it and notify you by email. If payment is still outstanding 14 days after the due date, we may suspend your website until the balance is paid. We will notify you by email before suspending your website.

5. Getting started and timelines

  • After you subscribe, you will be asked to complete an onboarding form and provide your content, such as your logo, photos and service details.
  • For the Starter Plan, we aim to have your website ready for review within 24 hours after we receive your completed onboarding form and all required content, such as your logo, photos and service details. For the Advanced Plan, we aim to have your website ready for review within 3 to 5 business days after we receive your completed onboarding form and all required content, such as your menu, products, services or listings. Revisions, domain connection and launch follow after your review. Delays in providing content or feedback will extend this timeline.
  • Your design includes reasonable revisions before launch. Once you approve the design, we will launch your website.
  • Your minimum term and billing start from your first payment, not from your website launch date.

6. Ownership of the website and your content

  • Your content stays yours. You keep ownership of everything you provide to us, including your logo, photos, text and business information. You give us permission to use this content to build, host and maintain your website.
  • The website remains ours. Because the design, build, hosting and maintenance are provided as an ongoing monthly service rather than a one-time purchase, the website design, code, theme, layout and setup remain the property of Digital Growth Lab and are licensed to you while your Plan is active.
  • When the Plan ends, your website will be taken offline. On request, we will return copies of the content you provided to us.
  • Your domain name stays yours. You register and own your domain name, and it remains yours if your Plan ends. You can point it to a new website at any time.

7. Your responsibilities

  • You confirm that you own or have permission to use all content you provide, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your website, including prices, hours and claims about your business.
  • You agree not to use the website for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful, including spam, malware or content that infringes the rights of others.
  • If you have an editing login, you are responsible for changes you make and for keeping your login details secure.

8. Hosting, availability and backups

We work to keep your website online, secure and backed up, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Outages can be caused by things outside our control, such as hosting provider issues, internet outages or third-party services. We will restore service as quickly as reasonably possible.

9. Suspension and termination by us

We may suspend or end the Plan if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if payment remains outstanding as described in section 4, or if your website is used for unlawful or harmful purposes. Where possible, we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the issue first.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Digital Growth Lab is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunities. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Plan is limited to the fees you paid to us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify active clients by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The latest version is always available on this page.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of Ontario.
